Dr Tim Hunter was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. He runs his own art advisory business, Venator Fine Art Ltd., and before that he worked at the advisory firm Gurr Johns for five years and at Christie's for sixteen years. At Christie's he was variously senior director of Old Master and British Pictures, Head of 19th Century European Art and a director in the Impressionist and Modern Art Department. Formerly he worked as a curator at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. His doctorate focused on Medieval Art, and he still publishes articles and lectures around the world. He has also appeared regularly on television for the BBC, ITV and Sky News.
For the last five years Tim has devoted much of his time to developing the market for art-backed finance throughout Europe, with the launch of Falcon Fine Art in 2014. As vice president Tim created innovative solutions for clients looking to raise money through their art collections, and he has developed a specialist knowledge in this area. He has wide-ranging connections in both the commercial art world and the Museum sector.
