Stefanie Berloffa-Spadafora started her career in London, working for Sotheby’s. After an initial experience in Private Sales within the Old Master Paintings Department, she widened her knowledge and expertise whilst practicing at Sotheby’s Legal Department. Stefanie was involved in various high value cross-border transactions, including the acquisition of The Wine of Saint Martin’s Day by Pieter Bruegel the Elder by the Prado Museum. She was responsible for drafting the contractual agreements at the 2011 Selling Exhibition “Material Worlds” at Sudeley Castle, England. She has recently consulted on contracts for another renowned Selling Exhibition, Glasstress 2013, collateral event of the Venice Biennale.
Stefanie holds a deep knowledge of all operational aspects required when dealing with Fine Arts. Her specialty is Art Law; she negotiates and drafts all range of contracts related to the Arts. Stefanie advices also on Droite de suite, Export Licences, Fine Art Shipping and Storage, Insurance and Taxes.Stefanie holds a Law Degree from both Bocconi University, Milan (Italy) and Catholic University of Ávila (Spain). She is a Spanish Qualified Lawyer and a European Registered Lawyer in the UK.
